The Holy spirit

       The Holy spirit in the life of a person is a phenomenon I am yet to understand.I was having a discussion with a quite number of people about the reality of making it to heaven by our own works. Actually, I am not disputing the facts that we can make it to heaven by our own works, but we should always have this in mind that "our WORKS alone cannot save us but our works AUTHENTICATE our salvation". We can make it to heaven by grace but what about the biblical verse which states that"Behold I come quickly and give unto everyone as his work shall be ". We are expected to live our lives in a way that is suitable for us to make it to heaven . God is telling us to be perfect as he is perfect. This is where the role of the Holy spirit takes place in our life. It seems quite impossible to be holy because we are human,if not,how do you want to respond to overbearing situations and provocation caused by mutual friends and relations . It seems quite foolish to turn "your left check"as declared by Jesus.
       However, it is very possible to live Holy if you have the Holy spirit . Holy spirit is that grip/ pricking of heart you feel anytime you want to commit any sin .In addition, this analogy is very important .If we want to make a food clean we have to cook ingredients that's clean and serve it in a clean plate . It's the same thing with the holy spirit If we need to be Holy we need something Holy .if you want to be Holy make good use of the Holy spirit . In this journey of christian life we need Holy spirit . I think that should be the first in our scale of preference for prayers.Jesus actually saw the overbearing nature of flesh in man that's why he promised to send us the Holy spirit which he had send. Let's pray this prayer "God I Need your Holy spirit ."
